In learning to use the Google Reader, I found some very good web sites which are rss and can come to my reader.
One is the International Journal of Music Educaation. I am not familiar with this one, but the araticles look very timely. There are articles on technology, improvisation, composition of 12 tone row and the blues, fostering good male bonding in choral settings and a few things dealing with elementary, which is what need the most. This one will have a few things that may help, although it seems to deal more with the older students than elementary students.
The LLAS Subject Center has several articles having to do with ESOL, which I feel will be the most helpful as it deals with ESOL (English as a Second Language) and will deal with vocabulary. This one seems to deal mostly with announcing various seminars which doesn’t help me alot, except that just knowing there are workshops about these things, helps me to know there are active groups interested in the same things I am, from sign languages to helping people to understand various vocabularies in various languages and how it can help in the English language as children don’t understand so many words found in songs.
Early Childhood Sites - this one has many articles about young children, language, the way children act, what is happening with young children, how to teach young children the Engllish language and more. I am finding articles that are pertinent to my subject area.
Music, TEchnology and Education - this site involves alot of technology. Some of it is still like a different language, but some of it seems to fit right in with my subject area.
ESOL - teaching vocabulary to the young children, learning vocabulary and meanings. very helpful it teaches English online, with emphasis on vocabulary, slang words and more. It will be helpful for finding the vocabulary needed.
